Victor Wanyama suffers huge defeat

Ex-Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama was introduced in the second half in a pre-season friendly match played against Tampa Bay Rowdies on Sunday morning.

Wanyama could not do enough in the game which was played in Florida, USA as his Canadian-based club CF Montreal went on to lose 4-1.

Sunusi Ibrahim opened the scoring for Montreal before the likes of Cal Jennings, Manuel Arteaga and Danny Crisostomo completed the comeback win for Tampa Bay Rowdies.

The match marked the last game for Montreal who will kick off the 2024 MLS season on February 25 against Orlando City.

Amos Wanjala heartbroken by Barcelona

Junior Stars reliable defender Amos Wanjala had some minutes as his Gimnastic de Tarragona U19 side succumbed to a 2-4 defeat at the hands of Barcelona's U19 side.

Wanjala, who captained Junior Stars to the 2023 CECAFA U18 Championship final, was introduced in the second half of the epic encounter and played in an unfamiliar left-back position.

Ouma features as Rakow Czestochowa triumphs

The 27-year-old Kenyan international conceded a soft penalty shortly after the start of the second half when he collided with a Piast Gliwice player while heading the ball.

Polish midfielder Patryk Dziczek converted the resultant penalty to put the visitors ahead in the game staged at the Rakow Municipal Stadium.

However, despite conceding the penalty, Ouma was instrumental in Rakow's defense. He had made a goal-line clearance earlier which prevented the visitors from taking the lead.

Rakow then produced a brilliant comeback to win the match 3-1 with Ante Crnic, Lukasz Zwolinski and Marcin Cebula scoring late goals.

The win left Rakow in sixth spot on 35 points, six behind log-leading Jagiellonia.
