Verjee Rules Two Wheel Drive At Mai Mahiu Autocross

KCB Bank have come on board to sponsor the nine legged series as well as the annual Kenya National Rally Championship circuit to a tune of KSh75m for the next three years

- Zameer Verjee emerged Two Wheel Drive Non Turbo Class winner in the opening leg of the KCB Kenya National Autocross Championship series held at the Great Rift Valley racetrack in Mai Mahiu on Sunday
- On his way to the deserved victory, Verjee defeated Sameer Nanji who finished second and Rajveer Thethy who came third as Sarry Mughal bagged fourth place
- Open Class competition was won by Imran Hakada who clocked 7:39.81 a head of Shalien Mughal and defending champion Kirit Rajput
- The Pee Wee Class for children U-8 years was equally entertaining.It was won by Soni’s brother Tsorav who beat Kiana Rajput by a five minute margin
MAI MAHIU,Kenya- Zameer Verjee emerged Two Wheel Drive Non Turbo Class winner in the opening leg of the KCB Kenya National Autocross Championship series held at the Great Rift Valley racetrack in Mai Mahiu on Sunday.
The budding speed merchant aslo clocked 2.38.40 to bag two bonus points for setting the Fastest Time of the Day in the championship.
"What a great way to start the season.I managed to score maximum points and the bonuses due to meticulous driving skills and great speed work," Verjee underlined.

“I had amazing run on the volcanic soil even though the day was hot and dusty.The Rage Buggy Class I have upgraded to really looks great, I'm hoping for the best in the next rounds," Verjee underscored.
On his way to the deserved victory, Verjee defeated Sameer Nanji who finished second and Rajveer Thethy who came third as Sarry Mughal bagged fourth place.
Mughal had a good consolation as his son Illyun lifted the Bambino Class. Illyun, who is the youngest driver in the Izmir Racing Team, beat defending champion Yuvraj Rajput to the title.

However, Tsevi Soni was disappointed after his race was not classified in the hotly contested Bambino Class due to mechanical failure.

Nanyuki based Kunal Patel won the heats total where he clocked 7.39.82 to beat Hakada and Verjee to the crown.
"The track was good and the buggy reliability was spot on. I will continue to keep up with the pace and maintain the tempo,” Patel highlighted.
