Torino FC to run Kits for Africa drive In Sunday's Napoli Clash

Serie A club calls on fans, players to drop off used or new equipment at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in aid of grassroots teams

- Torino have partnered with bookmakers SportPesa Italia to lend a hand to the project aimed at kitting impoverished grassroots team across Africa with playing equipment
- Last Sunday, English Premier League (EPL) side, Everton FC played with special Kits for Africa jerseys in their match against West Ham United FC at Goodison Park to drum support for the project
- Torino are 10th in Serie A with five points after winning one, drawing twice and losing another in their first four games of the new season and host a Napoli side in third
TURIN, Italy- Torino FC will have their 2018 Kits For Africa drive this Sunday during their Serie A clash against SS Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
Torino have partnered with bookmakers SportPesa Italia to lend a hand to the project aimed at kitting impoverished grassroots team across Africa with playing equipment.
Collection bins will be placed at the stadium where players, officials and supporters can place their old or new kit that will later be shipped and distributed to beneficiary teams in Africa.
Sunday’s high profile clash against Napoli who finished second in the race for the Scuddetto last season will also see 10 lucky winners of a promotion for the gaming firm’s customers win the chance to tour the stadium and interact with the players after the game.
"Come and donate towards this worthy cause during our game with Napoli. The collection points will be located at the east platform,” the club said in a message on Twitter.
Drum support
Last Sunday, English Premier League (EPL) side, Everton FC played with special Kits for Africa jerseys in their match against West Ham United FC at Goodison Park to drum support for the project.
Arsenal FC and Southampton FC of the EPL as well as Hull City Tigers FC of the English Championship are other European teams involved in the initiative that was launched in 2016.
Nairobi-based Liberty FC, Mashimoni, Gyff FC, Laini saba, Mustach Mashimoni, Kajulu FC, Katwekera, River Plate FC, Silanga, Shofco U20 FC, Gatwekera FC are some of the grassroots teams which have benefitted from this initiative.
