Snow Upbeat As Lucrative Safari Tour Heads To Muthaiga

The series leader is hoping to stretch his victory by winning his third round after bagging Vet Lab and Thika Greens legs of the KSh3m competition

NAIROBI, Kenya- Greg Snow is looking forward to stretch his lead by winning his third round of the competition as the fifth leg of Safari Tour Golf Classic Series heads to Muthaiga Golf Club in Nairobi this Friday.

The round has been boosted with lucrative prize money donated by Barclays Bank Of Kenya and Johnnie Walker who have forked out KSh1 million (USD10,000) each.

“The purse money has been increased, we expect this to motivate professional golfers  who will be up against each other as they look for glory in the one week tournament,” Kenya Open Golf Limited Chairman,Peter Kanyago, underlined.

This means the round winner will walk home with  KSh450,000 (USD5000) up from the previous KSh150,000 (USD2000).

“I’m also confident that the money that we have put into the Safari Tour will go a long way in helping our local golfers with the final preparations ahead of this year’s  Kenya Open.

“I look forward to improved performances in the competitions,” Kenya Breweries Limited Managing Director Jane Karuku, highlighted.

Among those expected to give Snow a run for his money in Muthaiga in the tournament that runs from January 11 to 16  are Mumias hard hitter, Dismas Indiza, David Wakhu who won the opening leg at Nyali in Mombasa and Michael Karanga who won the third round at Limuru Golf and Country Club in October.
