Samwel Kiprono Maina was brimming with joy as he explained how his life would change after he won a life-changing bonus from the SportPesa Mega Jackpot.
After correctly predicting the outcome of 16 games from the pot if 17, Samwel became the latest millionaire in town by winning KSHs 11,254,369.
The SportPesa Mega Jackpot still stands at over KSHs 230 million and still remains the most sought after football jackpot in the country.
"I woke up on Sunday and checked my phone and saw a message from SportPesa that began with the word 'congratulations'. At first, I could not believe it.
"I sat up and woke my wife up, who was sleeping right next to me, and she confirmed with me the winnings and we both could not stop smiling in disbelief," Samwel told SportPesa News.
There has not been a SportPesa Mega Jackpot winner since Cosmas Korir won a handsome amount of KSHs 208,733,619 in October 2018.
As fate would have it, Samwel and Korir know each other having been colleagues and they grew into friends as he confirms that he got the motivation to try the jackpot from him.
"After Korir won the jackpot, he inspired me to try it out once in a while and I am so glad that I did because now I'm a millionaire because of it.
"This money is going to change our lives at home, it will help with putting my kids through school and I am very grateful to SportPesa. It is very real and just keep playing, you never know," he added.
Gordon Ogada remains the highest football jackpot winner in Kenya after his KSHs 230,742,881 victory in 2018.
Though his record has the potential to be broken anytime in the near future as the mouth-watering pot just keeps getting bigger by the week.
