The 22-year-old missed an opportunity to represent Kenya in the 2023 World Athletics Championships that was staged in Budapest, Hungary after failing to meet the qualification time of 12:78 seconds.

After the heartbreak, Omulisia vowed to come back stronger with the intention of booking a slot in the eagerly anticipated Paris 2024 Olympic Games which is scheduled to run between July 26 and Sunday, August 11.

Besides the 100m hurdles, the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) employee can also run 100m, 200m and 400m and is viewed by many as Kenya's next sprinting sensation.

The AK Nairobi meet has attracted a host of other star names both local and international ones with the likes of 100m African record holder Ferdinand Omurwa Omanyala expected to feature in the 200m race.
