Police look to close gap on Gor Mahia as Shabana seek another lifesaving result

There are six crunch matches on offer in the FKF Premier League this Saturday, April 20.

Kenya Police FC, who are currently second in the FKF Premier League log with 45 points, will be looking to reduce the gap between them and league leaders Gor Mahia when they face Sofapaka at the Police Sacco Grounds on Saturday, April 20.

Salim Babu's side will be keen to extend their winning streak into match week 27 after edging out KCB 0-1 to move second in the table last time out.

The sharpshooters will be looking to trim Gor Mahia's lead to six points as they await for the results of the Mashemeji Derby slated for Sunday, April 21 at Nyayo Stadium.

They are currently in a rich vein of form and have won eight matches in their last eleven games in all competitions (D3). However, they have only won once in their past five meetings with Sofapaka.

On the other hand, Sofapaka is keen to avoid relegation as they currently sit 15th on the log with 28 points, three above the drop zone.

Elsewhere, Bandari will welcome KCB at Mombasa Sports Club while Bidco United will lock horns with Posta Rangers at Thika Sub-county Stadium.

Currently, Bandari is third on the table with 44 points, just one point behind Police and a win could take them up to second and reduce the gap with Gor Mahia to seven points.

KCB are tenth with 34 points and they will be keen to return to winning ways when they travel to Mombasa.

In other matches, Shabana FC will take on Kakamega  Homeboyz at Raila Odinga Stadium while FC Talanta will square it out with Nairobi City Stars at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
