Omalla reveals dreams of playing in the English Premier League

of playing professional football in the English Premier League.
According to the player who is popularly known by the
nickname Omalla, he would like to secure a move to EPL because it is one of the
world’s biggest football leagues.
“EPL is a big league, it is watched everywhere in the world.
It is a big platform and every player dreams of playing in the EPL.
I can say that if our former captain (Victor Wanyama)
managed to play in the EPL, I think, as a striker, I too can one day play in
that league,” he said in an interview with Safaricom News

The 22-year-old went on to disclose that he is a big fan of
Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United and likes Marcus Rashford’s playing
style.
Omalla was expected to sign a six-month loan deal with
Algerian side JS Saoura in the recently closed mid-season transfer window.
Unfortunately, the move that would have seen the talented
player earn a net salary of approximately Ksh 1 million did not happen since JS
Saoura decided to sign another striker.
Omalla has had to work hard to reach where he is today. His
football journey started at the age of seven at the Kisumu-based club
Chipolopolo FC before he went on to feature for sides such as Manyatta United
and Western Stima.

It was while at Manyatta United that he made his
breakthrough while playing in the 2019 Chapa Dimba na Safaricom football
tournament.
“Manyatta United had a good structure, there were coaches
who were in charge of each category. There was a U10, U12, U14, U16, U18,
senior team and a ladies team, so every category had a coach.
Manyatta has played a big role in nurturing my talent
because it gave me a platform to showcase my talent,” he explained.
The player who started his career as a defender added that
living at in Kisumu gave him motivation to make it in the competitive football
industry.

“Living in the slums makes you work hard so that you can
change the lives of your family. I started football as a leisure activity, but
later it turned out to be my passion. I can say football nowadays is a
well-paying career,” noted Omalla.
The leading Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) goal scorer ended by describing himself as a simple, friendly guy, who likes to interact with people and listen to good music such as reggae and afro beats to get psyched up ahead of football matches.
