Six minutes later, Rebecca “Becky” Okwaro added the second, before Lucy Kwekwe netted two quick goals in the 17th and 22nd minute respectively to give the law enforcers a huge 4-0 lead.

As fate would have it, Okwaro, who was impressive since the first minute, completed her brace in the 25th minute, to put the game behind the reach of Zetech Sparks.

To avoid further humiliation, Zetech Sparks head coach Maurice Obilo was forced to substitute his goalkeeper Yvonne Minage in the 34th minute.

The changed worked since the varsity side was able to complete the rest of the first half without another conceding a goal.

However, Kenya Police Bullets returned from the break aiming to increase their lead, and it took them only 13 minutes before Lydia Akoth made it 6-0.

Meanwhile, Zetech Sparks pulled one back in the 61st minute through Anna Arusi before Yvonne Kavere dispatched the ball into the net from the penalty spot to make the score line read 6-2.

Speaking after being confirmed champions, a delighted Odemba thanked everyone who has supported them throughout the season.

“We feel good as a team. We knew we were going to win the title but we didn’t expect it to come this early. We had given ourselves one more week.

We thank God. The journey has not been easy but we have walked with him and our supporters also,” she commented.

On his part, Obilo acknowledged that Kenya Police Bullets were the better side and deserved the victory.

“It was a tough match. Our tactics failed to work because they were so clinical. They utilized their chances and that is why they have beaten us.

We tried to make a comeback in the second half but they were disciplined. So, we just have to accept the results,” ended Obilo.
