Murang'a Seal remain confident of Kenya Premier League promotion as they prepare to take on Coastal Heroes at the Mbaraki Stadium on Sunday.
Seal are currently in second place in the National Super League standings with 61 points, level with leaders Shabana who have a game in hand.
The away game this Sunday carries with it a lot of weight as a win for Seal will all but guarantee they will be playing in the Kenyan topflight next season.
"We have fought hard to get to the place we are at now and the key thing is to maintain our focus and prepare well for the remaining fixtures.
"This team deserves to be promoted to the Kenya Premier League and I believe we have shown we have what it takes throughout the season," head coach Vincent Nyaberi told SportPesa News.
The top two teams still have to play a game against each other on July 2 at the St. Sebastian Park in Murang'a, though by then, both of them will probably have already earned promotion.
The battle left will be to see who clinches the National Super League title and go into the Kenyan topflight as champions.
"We are focused on our game this weekend and we are going for nothing less than a win. This is a huge moment for the club and all my teammates, we are ready for the challenge.
"As always, our fans have been a key part of our form this season and we want them to know how grateful we are to them for always having our backs," seasoned forward John Kiplagat stated.
Kiplagat was on target in their last game as Seal beat Naivas 2-1 last Wednesday at the Camp Toyoyo Grounds to stretch their unbeaten run to 15 games.
"It's crunch time and our main focus is the game on Sunday. We know it will not be an easy outing but we are prepared to battle it out and bag all 3 points," he added.
After Sunday, Seal will have 3 games left to play in the National Super League and are on course to earn promotion to Kenya Premier League.
Last season, Seal came so close to promotion but were unlucky to lose to Wazito on the away-goal rule after playing out to a 4-4 draw over two legs.
Since being founded in 2016, Murang'a Seal have been on a steady rise and they are about to make football history and represent th Central region of Kenya in the topflight.
