Kenya Commercial Bank have taken charge of the Kenya Premier League table after narrowly beating Nairobi City Stars 1-0 on Saturday.

David 'Messi' Owino came off the bench to score an 87th minute winner at the Ruaraka Sports Complex for Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno's charges.

Gor Mahia were dislodged from the top of the log after losing 2-1 to Kakamega Homeboyz over the weekend.

George Odiwuor and Stephen Opoku were on target for Homeboyz to cancel out Patrick Lwasa's opener for the record KPL winners.

Gor are now in third place with 18 points, three adrift of both KCB and Homeboyz who are tied at the top.

At the Kasarani Annex, Police continued with their renaissance, picking the second win in three games in emphatic fashion against a struggling Bidco.

Clifton Miheso scored from the penalty spot to give the newcomers the lead before Charles Ouma and Clinton Kinanga put the game beyond their opposition.

Police are now in 11th place with 11 points, two places above Bidco who have 10 points, same as defending champions Tusker FC.

The brewers returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 win against Nzoia Sugar courtesy of Deogratious Ojok’s first half header.

Custodian Patrick Matasi put on yet another man of the match performance and was resolute enough to keep Nzoia at bay to gift Tusker all 3 points.

Elsewhere, Wazito FC were in cruise control as they inflicted a seventh loss of the season to Mathare United, hitting them 4-1 at the Utalii Complex.

AFC Leopards and newbies Talanta FC played out to a 1-1 draw, leaving Ingwe in 15th place, two points above the relegation zone.

Oscar Musa Wamalwa and Bernard Ongoma were on target for Ulinzi Stars as they were 2-0 winners against Vihiga Bullets.

The win was their first in three games and they are in ninth place with 15 points.
