After the goals of Karolína Krivska and the league's top
scorer Marjoleen Nekesa, the Slavists wrote the winning dot in Slovacko's net
after an amazing season, they did not find defeaters on the home stage,” part
of the statement from the club’s management read.
Besides bagging the coveted title, Nekesa also won the Golden
Boot award for the second season in a row after netting an impressive 22 goals
in 14 matches.
This was a huge improvement from the 14 goals the Butere
Girls High School alumni scored last season in the top-tier league.
Meanwhile, Kenyan forward Henry Meja scored his first goal
for AFC Eskilstuna in a Swedish Division 1 league.
Meja, who is on loan from AIK Fotboll, found the back of the
net in the 13th minute in a match which his side went on to register a 3-1 win.
Aleksandar Azizovic and Selwan Al-Jaberi were also on the
score sheet for AFC Eskilstuna while Stocksund’s goals came courtesy of
Jonathan Flensborg and John Henrik Lukas.
The win helped AFC Eskilstuna, which is said to be on the
verge of being bought by Michael Olunga, jump to position 11 in the table
standings with 11 points.
