Gor Mahia with chance to go top in clash against Kariobangi Sharks
3rd December 2023
A total of five matches will be played on Sunday
- Gor could jump to the top of the table with victory against Sharks.
- This is after current table toppers Posta Rangers slipped to a 0-1 defeat against Nairobi City Stars.
- In other Sunday matches, Murang’a Seal will be hoping to bounce back from defeat when they face Kenya Police.
Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia will have a chance of moving
to the summit of the 23/24 Football Kenya Federation Premier League when they
face Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday evening in their round 13 match at the Machakos
Stadium.
This is after current table toppers Posta Rangers, who were one point ahead of K’Ogalo in the log standings, failed to get the buffer they needed as they slipped to a 0-1 defeat against Nairobi City Stars in a match played at the same venue on Saturday.

The defeat, the mailmen’s first in six games, ensured that Gor
could leapfrog them into top spot and open a two-point gap with victory over a
Sharks side currently struggling for form.
The William Muluya coached outfit have only managed one win
in their last eight games (D2 L5) and head into the clash against the 20-time
Kenyan champions on a worrying three
match losing streak that currently sees them occupying 13th spot on
the log, just four points above the relegation places.
On the other hand, Johnathan McKinstry’s Gor are the only side yet to taste defeat this season and will be hoping to build on their 0-2 win over Muhoroni Youth last time out with the incentive of going top also on the cards.

Recent meetings between these two sides tend to be closely
contested affairs with Gor Mahia emerging winners on two occasions in their
last five meetings, Sharks winning once and the remaining two games ending in
draws.
This time however, Gor Mahia will be seeking to add onto their winning column when the match kicks off at 1500EAT.

In other Sunday matches, Murang’a Seal will be hoping to
bounce back from defeat when they face Kenya Police at the Police Sacco
Stadium.
Seal saw their seven-match unbeaten streak brought to an end
last weekend following a 1-2 defeat against KCB. Police on the other hand are
seeking a third straight win for only the first time this season.
Elsewhere, Bandari welcome Muhoroni Youth at the Mbaraki
Grounds in Mombasa as Kakamega Homeboyz take on Bidco United at the Bukhungu
Stadium in Kakamega.
Nzoia Sugar will batte it out with Sofapaka at the Sudi
Stadium in Bungoma.
