Gor Mahia made it two wins in two Kenya Premier League matches as they beat Bidco United 2-1 at the Thika County Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The record KPL winners are sitting pretty at the top of the table with 6 points, two more than second place Bandari.

Benson Omalla opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a powerful header to give Gor the lead, his second goal of the season already.

Omalla was also on target last week when Gor Mahia edged Nzoia 1-0 at the Nyayo National Stadium in their opening game of the season.

Veteran Gor winger George 'Blackberry' Odhiambo made it 2-0 in the 56th minute when he made the most of a defensive blunder to round the keeper and slot the ball into the back of the net.

Gor had chances to add to their tally but Bidco were resolute in their defending as the game progressed until they were given a life-line in added time.

The referee pointed to the penalty spot after a foul in the area and Ezekiel Okare stepped up and converted the spot kick, making for a nervy end to the encounter.

Though it proved to be too little too late as Gor held on for the win and a massive 3 points to keep their record-chasing season in check.

Previously, Bidco have held Gor 1-1 in three consecutive matches since their second meeting in August last year and had only defeated Bidco once in the four matches they have played.

The other two games played on Saturday pitting Nzoia vs Bandari and Sofapaka vs Posta Rangers both ended in barren draws.

On Sunday, November 27, Kariobangi Sharks hosts Ulinzi Stars at Kasarani Annex at 2pm before KCB entertains Kakamega Homeboyz at the same stadium from 4pm.

Tusker FC will be at their home in Ruaraka where they welcome City Stars at 3pm, seeking a second consecutive win.
