Here is a wrap of all the action witnessed in match week 22.

Gor Mahia open 8-point gap

Gor Mahia returned to winning ways after narrowly edging out a strong Nairobi City Stars side 1-0 in a crunch tie staged at the Machakos Stadium.

Benson Omalla scored the goal early in the first half and sprinted towards Gor Mahia supporters to celebrate the crucial breakthrough.

The goal meant a lot to the 22-year-old since he has had a tough time recently which might have impacted him psychologically.

The forward was expected to seal a move away from Gor Mahia in the January transfer window but it collapsed at the last minute, denying him a life-changing opportunity.

Moreover, the former Western Stima player had gone seven games without finding the back of the net in the league.

His goal ensured the multiple champions opened an eight-point gap at the top of the FKFPL standings as they drew closer to defending their title.

Murang’a Seal finally returns to winning ways

A struggling Murang’a Seal side finally found joy in the FKFPL after playing 11 matches without picking up the maximum points.

The Abdalla Juma-coached side overcame pre-match favorites Bidco United in an encounter that was staged at the serene SportPesa Arena on Saturday evening.

New signing Robert Mudenyu, who scored his first goal, was the savior for Murang’a Seal as his first-half header ensured they won the match.

The morale-boosting win helped the Central region-based club to climb to 11th in the table standings with 27 points, three behind Bidco who occupy the ninth position.

Ingo Derby fails to live up to expectations

The eagerly anticipated western derby between Kakamega Homeboyz and AFC Leopards failed to live up to the expectations this time round as the two sides played to a barren draw.

A win for Ingwe would have helped them overtake Homeboyz in the FKFPL log since the two clubs were separated by a single point before the match.

With nothing but three points on their minds, hundreds of AFC Leopards fans traveled from Nairobi to Bukhungu Stadium expecting their club to dismantle foes Kakamega Homeboyz.

However, it was never to be as the hosts gave everything to avoid humiliation at their own backyard, ensuring the match ended in a barren draw.

The two clubs currently sit at position seven and eight in the FKFPL table with Homeboyz having 31 points.
