The Tanzanian company will be unveiled on Thursday.

- The Tanzanian company will replace StarTimes who left two years ago.
- Details of the broadcast deal will be unveiled in the launch on Thursday.
The 2023/24
Football Kenya Federation Premier League campaign is set to receive a massive boost
following news that a broadcast sponsor will be unveiled on Thursday by the Football
Kenya Federation (FKF).
The top league in the country has not had a broadcast partner since November 2021 when StarTimes terminated their would-be seven-year deal in the second season.
"Over
the years, we have initiated efforts geared towards football development, as
seen through various legend tours aimed at instilling technical and
professional soccer skills to targeted beneficiaries.
The media and
commercial rights agreement was, therefore, a culmination of our commitment as
a brand to support the development of Kenyan football in our appreciation that
a strong domestic league is always a foundation to build a strong national team
which would be the pride of the nation.
To this end,
we have honoured our part of contractual obligations, including but not limited
to the timely disbursement of copyright fees.
However,
after a careful review of the contract performance, which is now in its second
season, we regret to announce that we have taken the painful decision to
withdraw our media and commercial rights sponsorship with the now-disbanded
Football Kenya Federation,” StarTimes said when exiting back then.
In a
communique released on Wednesday, FKF invited members of the fourth estate to the
unveiling ceremony that will take place on Thursday morning.
“The Football Kenya Federation will on Thursday 31 August 2023 unveil an official broadcast partner for the FKF Premier League,” FKF posted.
SportPesa News can confirm that Tanzanian giants Azam will be the new broadcast partners to be unveiled.
The Tanzanian company already confirmed the news in their official social media channels.
"On Thursday, there will be a big sporting function in Kenya. Azam Media Limited will be signing a contract with the Football Kenya Federation from 9am," the post read.
Azam TV currently airs the Tanzania Football Federation Mainland Tanzania Premier League, and in May 2021 signed a deal worth 10.48 billion Kenya shillings for a period of 10 years.
