Here is a wrap of how the foreign-based players fared over the weekend.

Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma

The Harambee Stars exciting full-back did not get the desired start after his new club Rakow Czestochowa lost 3-1 to Bulgarian heavyweights Ludogorets Razgrad in a friendly match on Saturday.

Ouma joined the Polish side a few weeks ago after spending several years with Swedish-based AIK Fotboll.

The former Gor Mahia player, who was introduced as a substitute after the break, managed to create two goal-scoring chances.

Ouma is expected to make his official debut for the reigning Polish champions against Warta Poznan on February 11.

Jentrix Shikangwa

Wiyeta Secondary School alumni Jentrix Shikangwa had a memorable weekend with Simba Queens.

The 22-year-old striker scored a hat-trick on Saturday, January 27 to help the East African giants hammer Alliance Girls 7-0.

Shikangwa also provided an assist in a game in which another Kenyan player Corazone Aquino found the back of the net.

Besides Aquino and Shikangwa, former Vihiga Queens and Gaspo Queens duo of Ruth Ingosi and Elizabeth Wambui also featured for the Dar es Salaam-based club.

Joseph Okumu

Harambee Stars center-back Joseph 'Crouch' Okumu was solid in the Stade de Reims defense on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

Okumu, who started the game alongside Ivorian ace Emmanuel Agbadou at the heart of defense helped the French Ligue 1 side to register a barren draw with visitors Nantes.

Reims currently sit at position six in the log with 30 points, 14 less than league leaders Paris Saint Germain.

Esse Akida

Another Harambee Starlets forward Esse Akida Mbeyu was also on the score sheet on Saturday.

Akida, who hails from Coastal Kenya, scored and registered an assist in PAOK Thessaloniki FC’s 2-0 victory over Asteras Tripolis.

The win helped the Greece-based side to maintain their unbeaten run in the topflight league.
