Clash of titans expected at KPC Anniversary Volleyball Tournament

The men’s national volleyball league champions Kenya Prisons and hosts Kenya Pipeline (women) are among the teams that will be gunning for victory when the Kenya Pipeline Company @50 volleyball tournament serves off this Friday at the Nyayo National Stadium and Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.

The duo are among 21 teams (12 men’s and 9 women’s) that have confirmed participation at the three-day event which will be used to celebrate Kenya Pipeline’s Golden Jubilee.

Also joining the half-century milestone celebrations are two girls' teams—Kwanthanze and Soweto—and two boys' teams—Ruthimitu Mixed and Hospital Hill.

Prisons, who won the league last year – their first since 2016 - will be looking to add another trophy to their cabinet but must first navigate their Group D which also has fellow league side Administration Police and Division 2 stalwarts KAPU.

Meanwhile, dethroned champions GSU go in as favorites, albeit in a challenging Pool B alongside Equity Bank and Kenya Army.

League runners-up Kenya Ports Authority are in Group A alongside the unpredictable Trailblazers and DoD.

Hosts and seven-time African Champions Kenya Pipeline headline the women’s event and have been drawn in Pool A alongside DCI, Postbank and Nairobi Prisons.

Reigning women’s champions, KCB are in Pool B alongside Kenya Prisons, Maranatha and KDF.
