CS Namwamba reveals high tech to be employed in building Talanta Sports City

China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has been selected as the contractor for the engineering, procurement, and construction of Talanta Stadium.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has revealed the
advanced technology that will be used to build the Talanta Sports City Stadium
in Jamhuri, Nairobi.
Speaking during the ground-breaking ceremony presided over
by President William Ruto on Friday, Ababu pointed out that the Talanta Stadium
will be a state-of-the-art facility conforming to all internationally recognized
standards.
According to the CS, the iconic design was conceived after
intense discussions with various stakeholders and professionals sports world.

Design Details
The stadium will be specially built to host different
disciplines including soccer, rugby and specific high-end events.
According to Ababu, the Talanta Hela Stadium will be fused
with botanical gardens that align with global recommendations on environment
conservation.
The government will also infuse renewable energy forms such
as solar to run different activities at the stadium ahead of the AFCON 2027
games.
Ababu pointed out that the stadium will meet all the
thresholds set by FIFA and CAF on the size of the field and VIP spaces. Besides
the size, Ababu disclosed that the stadium will be fitted with enough fans to
allow proper air circulation as recommended by FIFA.

The stadium will be a tech-savvy facility for live video
production, the VAR and goal-line technology adopted from the very best in the
world.
Security and accessibility of the facility will be top-notch
meeting the current FIFA-approved standards.
Moreover, Ababu revealed that the government will acquire
the services of a management company to monetize the facility through running
advertisements and other forms of commercials.
"The stadium is a unique design that oozes a distinct Kenyan flavour. It has been curated to reflect the very best of Kenyan culture . It is a customized football-only design, tailored for soccer, rugby and elite concerts," Ababu stated

"It is a compact edifice curated to accentuate an
electric atmosphere that will also earn the Kenya team that crucial 12-man
advantage," he added.
The Talanta Hela Stadium is set to be completed by 2026, CS
Ababu announced. The 60,000-seat stadium is expected to be Kenya's main sports
facility for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Regarding the 2027 AFCON Finals, the CS stated that the
country set to host the ultimate game would be selected upon completion of all
the stadiums in the host nations.
He asserted that an agreement would be reached between the
host countries, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, in consultation with the
Confederation of African Football on who will host the finals.
Besides the new stadium, Ababu announced that renovations at Kasarani International Stadium will be completed by December 2024.
