HONG KONG, China- A unfolding nightmare that is the 2018/19 HSBC World Sevens Series for Kenya continued on Saturday morning when Shujaa fell 12-28 to Australia to finish bottom of Pool C of the Hong Kong 7s.

Trailing 0-21 after another first half collapse, Bush Mwale and captain Jeffrey Oluoch went over with a Johnstone Olindi converting the first try to crawl the deficit to 12-28 as Shujaa threatened a remarkable comeback.

In their opener, head coach Paul Murunga’s side surrendered to a 5-22 reverse in a contest where Fiji landed three quick tries to knock the wind off the Kenya’s sails.
Aminiasi Tuimaba, Vilimoni Botitu and Jerry Tuwai crossed the whitewash with Livai K. converting the second five-pointer for a 17-0 advantage to the pacific islanders at half time.

Shujaa captain, Jeffrey Oluoch dotted down for an unconverted try to raise brief hopes of a comeback but Fiji responded with their fourth when Alasio Naduva crossed the whitewash for the final score.
Joseva Ravouvou and Regan Ware notched a brace of tries apiece to lead New Zealand to a 36-0 humbling of Shujaa in the second fixture.
Daniel Taabu threatened to hand Kenya a five-pointer but was tackled to touch in the second half.
The missed opportunity resulted with a fifth try for the All Blacks 7s when a 30m pass sprang New Zealand captain, Joe Webber, who sliced through two half-hearted Shujaa defenders to ground the ball.
Shujaa dropped to the Challenge Trophy yet again where they will play the third finisher from Pool B.
