AFC Leopards woes continues as they get fried by Bidco United
10th December 2023
Ingwe succumbed to a 2-1 defeat on Sunday.
- Leopards have now not won a game in their last six league matches (D4 L2).
- The team have managed only one win in 14 games.
- The defeat leaves Leopards stagnant at position 14 with 11 points, 3 more than the bottom-placed side Muhoroni Youth.
AFC Leopards continued with their winless run in the 23/24
Football Kenya Federation Premier League after being beaten 2 -1 by Bidco
United in the Sunday match played at the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a County.
Bidco United took a lead in the 58th minute through a
Shariff Musa strike before the situation got worse for the Thomas Trucha
coached side when one of the Ingwe players directed the ball into his own net
three minutes later to put the hosts on the driving seat.
Trucha was forced to make two substitutions to salvage the situation, bringing in Jaffari Owiti and Victor Omune in place of Victor Otieno and Munyendo Bonface.
Trucha’s gamble eventually paid off when Omune pulled one
back in the 72nd minute to give his side a chance of returning with something
from Murang’a.
Ingwe continued to push for an equalizer especially when
Bidco United’s Bodo was red carded but their efforts did not pay off.
The match took more than 100 minutes since some of the Ingwe fans interrupted the proceedings in the 84th minute.

The defeat left Leopards stagnant at position 14 with 11
points, 3 more than the bottom-placed side Muhoroni Youth whose match against
Police FC was postponed due to heavy rains that was witnessed in Western Kenya.
Ingwe have only won a single match this season, despite making managerial changes several weeks ago. This is one of the worst starts to a season by the multiple FKFPL champions.
In other matches played on Sunday, Posta Rangers missed a
chance to go level on points with leaders Gor Mahia FC after being forced to a
barren draw against Tusker FC.
Meanwhile, Sofapaka rectified last week’s mistake when they came back from behind to beat a strong Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos while Kakamega Homeboyz edged past Shabana FC with a 2-0 score line in a game staged at Bukhungu Stadium.
