Leopards SC will have to wait a little longer for their first SportPesa Premier
League (SPL) victory of the new season after playing out to a goalless draw
against Kariobangi Sharks FC.
The result leaves Andre Casa Mbungo’s Leopards in 15th place
with a single point to their name, whilst Sharks are in ninth after draws in
both their opening matches.
Former Ulinzi Stars FC and Al Nasr forward John Mark
Makwatta made his debut for Leopards after sealing a deadline day move but his
presence was not enough to steer his side to all three points.
Leopards still have not beaten Sharks in six previous league
meetings and William Muluya’s charges had to settle for the point at the
Kasarani Stadium.

A match against newly-promoted Wazito FC is next up for
Leopards whilst Sharks await a tricky away test against Kakamega Homeboyz FC at
the Bukhungu Stadium next weekend.
In the other SPL match on the day, Kenya Commercial Bank FC
(KCB) and Kisumu All Stars FC also played out to a barren draw.
KCB stuck to the same starting 11 that beat Sony Sugar FC on
match day one of the 2019/20 season but failed to capitalize on numerous
chances during the hotly contested encounter.
Despite the stalemate, KCB remain in charge of the SPL standings
with four points from the opening two fixtures as the All Stars from Kisumu are
in 16th with a single point.
