Rachier Confident Gor Will Revenge On Berkane, Dispels Travelling Rumours

NAIROBI, Kenya- Gor Mahia FC chairman, Ambrose Rachier is optimistic that the team will overturn a 2-0 deficit inflicted by Moroccan cup holders RS Berkane in Nairobi last weekend when the two sides meet for the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals second leg in Berkane town this Sunday.
Rachier said the team took time to prepare well for the game and the players are inspired for the clash whose aggregate winner will proceed for the semifinals.
“We had a light training at Camp Toyoyo today and the players are already upbeat. They have promised to give their all in the return leg,” Rachier underlined.

But the SportPesa Premier League champions will miss the services of Rwanda International Jacques Tuyisenge, Shafiq Batambuze and Ernest Wendo who are still suspended.

“There was a slight technical hitch with the bookings that were made by the Government. We went to the airport on Thursday but were duly informed by the state that our scheduled flights will be today (Friday).
“We already have the tickets and the first batch of players will depart on Friday at 5:20 pm (+3 GMT ) aboard a Qatar Airways.
“The second lot will travel via Congo Brazzaville aboard a Kenya Airways flight scheduled to leave Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 8.55 pm,” he explained.

Rachier said club officials will travel to Morocco on Saturday.
Gor versus Berkane encounter will be played at 8.00 pm in Berkane Stadium located 608 km from Casablanca and 425 km out of capital Rabat.
