Muyoti Takes Over From Interim Boss Allan Wanga At Kakamega Homeboyz

The void left by the former AFC Leopards hero at the sugar millers is likely to be filled by former Azam FC full-back Ibrahim Shikanda

KAKAMEGA, Kenya- Nicholas Muyoti has parted ways with Sportpesa Premier League (SPL) side Nzoia Sugar FC and joined Kakamega Homeboyz FC in the same capacity, the club confirmed Tuesday.
The youthful tactician had been in talks with the Kakamega County based outfit for weeks and has finally joined the club on a one-year deal.
He will replace Ugandan Paul Nkata who left the team a few weeks ago. Club chairman, Cleophas ‘Toto’ Shimanyula had appointed striker Allan Wanga as interim coach following Nkata’s departure.

Muyoti will be assisted by former Nakuru Allstars tactician Peter Okidi who returns to the club less than a year after he was dismissed alongside head coach Mike Mururi in May 2018.
"I can confirm that we have appointed Muyoti and Okidi as head coach and an assistant coach respectively.
“We believe the two youthful officials will forge a good working relationship with the players to steer the team to greater heights," Shimanyula underlined.

On his side, Nzoia chairman Yappets Mokua wished Muyoti well and revealed that his deputy, Vincent Sifuma, will take charge until Muyoti's replacement is found.
"I wish him well at Homeboyz. He did a commendable job here. He assembled a very good squad and we want to thank him for his service to the club. We have embarked on a journey to get a capable replacement but Sifuma will be in control of the playing unit for now,” Mokua underscored.
Sources have indicated that former Nairobi Stima FC head coach Ibrahim Shikanda has been lined up for the Nzoia job.

Shikanda, who quit Stima at the end of 2018 season after failing to guide them to the SPL, is currently in charge of Football Kenya Federation Division One side, Bungoma Allstars FC.
