NAIROBI, Kenya- Third placed Mathare United FC travel to Mombasa to take on league leaders Bandari FC in a SportPesa Premier League (SPL) match at Mbaraki Stadium with focus to return to the table summit.

The slum boys were holed up in a very vigorous exercise at their Goan Institute base in Nairobi from Monday to build up stamina for this looming battle.

“I know the match will not be easy, but I’m hopeful to take my clean sheet to three games this weekend,” Mathare custodian Allan Owiny underlined on Friday.

Owiny , who has not conceded a goal in their last two fixtures against Zoo Kericho FC and AFC Leopards SC, strongly believes an away win against the dockers will be possible. Victory over the hosts will see Mathare return  to the top of the log with 32 points.

“It’s important that we limit our mistakes and ensure we get early goals,” Owiny underscored.

Leopards  head to  Bukhungu to tackle Sony Sugar FC hoping to  bag victory that  will pull them away from the relegation zone.
