NAIROBI, Kenya- Kenya Commercial Bank FC (KCB) head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno has continued to ascertain faith in his team after a convincing 3-1 victory over Western Stima FC last Saturday.

The former Kenyan international was pleased with his side’s performance at the Kenyatta Stadium in a match that he said was never going to be an easy one.

Club top scorer Enock Agwanda, Reagan Otieno and Simon Munala scored for KCB in the first half, while Villa Oromchan from the spot in the second half netted the visitors’ consolation.

“It was a good game and we had fully prepared for it. I am very happy with the performance and we need to keep at it.

“Stima had nothing to lose in the second half and they went for it so I am happy we did not panic and maintained our calm for all three points,” Otieno told SportPesa News.

KCB stretched their unbeaten streak to eight games with the win and are in fourth place with 35 points, just four off the top and still with a game in hand.

“We are taking it a game at a time and tomorrow we rest and go to church to thank God for the win before we resume on Monday.

“We had a target when we began the season and we know what we want to achieve. Three goals against Stima is not easy and we are on course,” the Harambee Stars assistant coach offered.

The bankers remain on course for a maiden league title and resume league action on Saturday, February 1 with an away assignment against Zoo FC.

Zoo are without a win in their last five matches and will need something close to a miracle if they are to get anything out of the game at the Kericho Green Stadium.

“The team is fine and we have a strong squad that is able to challenge for the title. We just need to concentrate more and get more goals from all the chances we are creating.

“We are conceding goals often despite not losing and as we go forward that is one thing we have to work on.

“We need to get clean sheets going forward so we can maintain the pace we are moving at now,” Otieno concluded.

KCB lost left-back Dennis Ng’ang’a and speedy winger Kennedy ‘Daddy’ Owino to Wazito FC and forward Clinton Kisiavuki to Posta Rangers FC but seem to be in top form with the squad left.
