Kenya- The Kenya
Sevens rugby team has a silver lining as they head for the Americas tour of the
2019/20 HSBC World Sevens Series from February 29- March 1.
The return
of experienced players Oscar Ouma and Sammy Oliech is a boost to the Shujaa squad after
almost a year and a half out of
the national team.
Technical Director Paul Feeney says Oliech should have been
part of the squad from the start but was pegged back by injury, and says he is
pleased to have him available for next weekend’s Los Angeles 7s.
Oliech and former
captain Ouma will also be part of the team for the Vancouver Sevens in Canada
on March 7.
Also returning to the squad is Jacob Ojee and Dan Sikuta,
both who missed the Oceania tour of Hamilton and Sydney.
The tournament in the USA sees the return of the traditional
tournament format, which incorporates cup quarterfinals that have been missing
from the opening rounds of the current campaign.
