- This was AFC Leopards first defeat in the last 10 matches in all competitions.
- The win ensured Tusker increased their tally to 43 points this season, seven behind leaders Gor Mahia.
- Ingwe will play their next league match on April 7 against Sofapaka FC.
AFC Leopards’ nine-game unbeaten run ended as they suffered a painful 1-0 defeat at the hands of Tusker in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match played on Sunday at the Machakos Stadium.
Ingwe, who struggled at the start of the season, saw their unbeaten run in 2024 (W6 D1) ended as Tusker’s goal came courtesy of an Ingwe player who put the ball into his own net from Mike Oduor’s inswinging corner kick.
The Brewers could have added the second goal at the stroke of halftime as Siwa Shaphan picked up a loose ball inside the Leopard’s 18-yard box but his strike failed to trouble the goalkeeper.

Ingwe came back in the second half all guns blazing and could have found an equalizer in the 58th minute but Tusker’s custodian Brian Opondo dealt well with Arthur Gitego’s shot, tipping it over the crossbar.
However, despite Ingwe’s spirited fight, the Brewers managed to hold on to the slim lead and picked up the maximum points as they moved back to second place on 43 points.
