Odemba names final Harambee Starlets squad for do-or-die Botswana clash

Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has named 23 players as part of the travelling team for their return clash against Botswana set to be played on Tuesday 5 December in Gaborone.
Captain Ruth Ingosi headlines the squad alongside her defensive partner Phoebe Owiti with Kenya seeking to get a result that will see them qualify for the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament to be held in Morocco.

Both sides played to a 1-1 draw in the first leg played at Nyayo National Stadium and Kenya have all the work to do in the second leg which is the last qualification hurdle.
Should Harambee Starlets emerge as the aggregate winners of the two-legged qualifier, they qualify for the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations, making only their second appearance in a WAFCON tournament after making their debut in the 2016 tournament.

Other players who have been included in the squad include Czech based Marjolene Nekesa who scored Kenya’s goal in the first leg. Corazone Aquino, Mwanahalima Adam, Sheryl Angachi and Cynthia Shilawatso have also been included in the travelling part.
Starlets left for Botswana on Sunday, December 3 at 5 a.m. and fly back home on Wednesday, December 6.
