MUMIAS, Kenya – Western Stima FC have set sights on toppling another SportPesa Premier League (SPL) giant when they take on AFC Leopards SC in their next encounter.

Stima moved from the relegation zone to 16th in the SPL log after stunning champions Tusker FC 1-0 in Kisumu on Friday and head coach Henry Omino has warned Leopards to expect the same.

Victory in the July 30 clash will see Stima put further distance between themselves and the drop zone.

Winning form

“We have not been doing well the first leg and as we approach the second, it is important to do everything possible and ensure that we adapt and maintain a winning form.

“The two weeks we have until our next match will help us plan for upcoming fixtures, especially the one against Leopards who will not give us an easy time,” the Stima boss Omino stressed.

Stima have collected 14 points from 16 games, five adrift of Leopards who are 11th after winning their first SPL clash in 10.

Returning Robert Matano led Ingwe to a 1-0 victory over Bandari on his first game in charge at the Den.

Long-serving Omino led Stima to a sixth-place finish last year in one of the best seasons he had put together at the Western Kenya-based club.
