Kenya women’s national team setter Jane Wacu believes Malkia Strikers have what it takes to win the upcoming Africa Nations Cup that serves off in Nairobi on June 10.
The experienced setter, who returned to the country on Tuesday May 12th night, missed the recently concluded Africa Games Qualifiers in Kampala due to club commitments alongside former national team skipper Brackcides Agala.
The duo played a crucial role in Chamalières promotion to French Division One League after finishing second in the play-offs.
Speaking after the training session at the Kasarani Gymnasium, Wacu said she is determined to fight for her place in the team.
“I know it will not be easy to get back into the first team, but with what I have learnt in France I am ready to fight for my place,” said Wacu.
“We have a strong team and I am confident we will make Kenyans proud. Being the hosts, we will do our best and hopefully win it.”
