Van Persie wants to STAY.

The Holland striker, 31, has scored just 10 goals this season and is being eyed up by Turkish giants Fenerbahce. But he is ready to reject any advances to extend his United career, according to the Mail.

It’s claimed that Van Persie, whose contract runs out at the end of next season, has accepted he is no longer United’s main frontman.

Louis van Gaal handed Wayne Rooney the captain’s armband when he took over and is eyeing up a summer move for Edinson Cavani.

But despite playing a bit-part role this season, which has been hampered by injuries, the Dutchman doesn’t want to quit. He’s content with life in Manchester while his children are settled in a school in Cheshire.

A source close to the striker told the Mail said: “Robin is in no rush to leave. He still thinks he can achieve things and contribute at Old Trafford.”

Van Persie returned from an ankle injury against Everton on Sunday.

He played just two minutes off the bench but could return to the side against West Brom.
