Manchester City are apparently looking into nipping Angel Di Maria from under their rivals’ nose with Manchester United close to securing a British transfer record deal.
Di Maria, 26, has said his goodbyes at Real Madrid ahead of a move to Man United, but according to The Times Man City are going to make a late swoop for his signature, and have asked him to delay his decision in order to sort out their finances with a possible breach of Financial Fair Play rules.
The Argentine could cost Man United upwards of £60 million with Real Madrid demanding around £63m for his signature and Man City are apparently looking into the possibility of stealing him from United, who have targeted him all summer.
United will hope to get the deal done quickly with just over a week of the transfer window remaining as they have other targets lined up that must be secured.
Here is how fans reacted to the rumours that City will steal Di Maria from Man United.
