Tusker FC attacking midfielder Brian Osumba hopes his side will bounce back from a 1-0 defeat against KCB and defeat Sofapaka in their next Kenyan Premier League match scheduled for Sunday.
KCB stood against all odds to silence the Brewers, courtesy of a goal by Paul Mungai Kiongera to give the home side second win of the season, at the same time inflicting a third loss to the visitors. However, the former banker believes his team is intact and the loss was just a bad luck.
“Tusker is a good team, with good players. It was unfortunate we lost last weekend but we are aiming to bounce back against Sofapaka. It will definitely be a challenge as Sofapaka is also looking to win. But I think we have the hunger more than them, so it will be to our advantage,” Osumba told Goal on Wednesday.
“The season is not over; we are just about to conclude the first leg. Our target still remains finishing on top by the end of the season. The management is behind us in everything we do, that is a big plus to us. The only way we can pay back is by winning the league.”
Francis Kimanzi’s side is currently lying fifth on the log after amassing nineteen points from five wins, four draws and three losses with matches against Batoto ba Mungu, Sony Sugar and Gor Mahia looming large.
