NAIROBI, Kenya- With the National Rugby Sevens Circuit producing four different winners, SportPesa Quins will be looking to secure a Main Cup final spot in front of their home fans at the Christie 7s this weekend.

The penultimate leg of the series is set to produce loads of tantalising fixtures as the sides seek to improve on their current standings in the 20-team log.

Quins, the host team, are currently in eighth place in the standings, three points behind Strathmore Leos who beat them in the quarter finals of the Prinsloo 7s in Nakuru.

The two sides will square off once more this weekend as they fight to emerge top of Pool A at the RFUEA Grounds. The task at hand is easier said than done as the headlining team in the pool are the Sepetuka winners, Kabras Sugar RFC.

Notably, Quins have not managed a victory over Kabras the entire season.

High-flying deejays

Pool B features Kabeberi 7s defending champions Resolution Impala Saracens RFC, they go into Christie’s in third place with 61 points. Top Fry Nakuru RFC are fifth in the standings, five points behind Impala. The two other teams in the Pool are University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine and debutants Kisii RFC.

Driftwood champions and series leaders Menengai Cream Homeboyz RFC headline the Pool of death alongside Mwamba RFC, Western Bulls and Nondescripts RFC.

Nondies have had a dismal streak in the recent past and they head into the tournament 11th with 24 points, a whopping 44 points adrift of the high-flying deejays.

The surprise of the circuit, Menengai Oilers RFC, who are sitting tight in fourth with 58 points, will battle it out in Pool D against the bankers KCB RFC, Sepetuka division two winners Daystar Falcons and Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad.

The tournament begins on Saturday October 14 and the final will be played on Sunday October 15 at 5pm.
