Barcelona are currently top of the table in Spain. Their stats are great, with a record of six wins and one draw.
They did not concede a single goal in their first seven games of the season, which has allowed Claudio Bravo to set a new clean sheets record. Their attacking stats are good too. They have scored 19 goals, a tally only surpassed by their La Liga rivals, Real Madrid and European giants, Chelsea and Marseille.
The only downside is how those goals have been shared out. The team shows a distinct dependency on two of its stars. Neymar and Messihave scored 13 of the team’s 19 league goals this season.
The others were not very well distributed and simply prove the team’s overall lack of attacking prowess. To start with, three of those goals came from Barça B players. Sandro scored two and Munir another. The only other two first-team players to find the back of the net are Pedro and Rakitic.
In total, only six different players have scored in the league this season, something that has not happened since the 2005/06 campaign. Another relevant fact is the defence’s contribution in front of goal. Only one defender has scored this season and that was Piqué in the Champions League. Barcelona really need more goals from their defenders.
