goPeter Okidi is hopeful his defense will contain Bandari FC in a Kenyan Premier League match set for Wednesday at Mombasa County Stadium.
The Nakuru-based club was thrashed by defending champions Gor Mahia 5-0 on Sunday at Nyayo Stadium in their second heaviest defeat after conceding 6-2 against KCB early in the season. However, Okidi is optimistic his team will bounce back away against the Dockers, who held Chemelil Sugar to a one all draw away.
“It will be a tough away match for us especially after a heavy defeat on Sunday. The team needs a quick response against our hosts on Wednesday. We need to motivate ourselves for that match, it will be important to get it right. They will make it hard for us though because they will not want to more points especially at home,
“I might be forced to make a few changes from the side which played on Sunday, it is inevitable and needed. Despite the fact that it will be a long journey, we will do our best to make use of the chance and get good results. Yes I am optimistic.”
Since the beginning of the season, Stars have played eleven matches, losing ten of them at the same time conceding a massive thirty one goals – currently the worst defense in the division, and scoring just nine.
