Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has provided an injury update on his squad, revealing that defender Laurent Koscielny will not need to undergo surgery.
Koscielny was sent home from France duty over the international break with an Achilles issue, which Wenger has now confirmed.
However, while the centre-back is not in contention to play Hull this coming weekend, the positive news for the Gunners is that he does not need an operation.
Wenger told a press conference this morning: “Koscielny is not in contention for Saturday, but he will not need to have surgery.”
The Arsenal boss also confirmed that Mesut Ozil is out of the Hull game, while Aaron Ramsey is likely to be in contention to face Anderlecht in the Champions League next week.
“Ramsey will be back in full training on Monday and will be in the squad for Anderlecht”
, Wenger added.
The Gunners boss also talked up Hull’s strength ahead of the clash.
“Look at the quality of the players Hull have got in, you can say they are top quality.”
