Juventus Boss Revels In Coppa Italia Win.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri congratulated his ‘brilliant’ players for winning the Coppa Italia against Lazio last night.

The game moved into extra time after it finished at 1-1 in normal time but an Alessandro Matri goal in the 97th minute sealed the Coppa Italia for the Italian champions.

The win kept the Bianconeri’s dream of winning a historic treble this season alive, and Allegri was quick to laud the players’ efforts in a completing a league and cup double, which he feels is not a mean feat in itself.

The Juventus manager also didn’t fail to congratulate their vanquished opponents Lazio, who he believes started the game well before Juventus came fighting back after the break.

“It wasn’t easy to do the league and cup double. Now we’ll see what the next final has in store for us”, Allegri was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

“All the lads did brilliantly. It wasn’t an easy game. Lazio made a strong start then we came into it more in the second half.”

With the Champions League final against Barcelona on the horizon, the Juventus boss praised his players for maintaining their drive and hunger to complete a historic treble this season.

“Going all the way in three competitions as we have is no simple task. We put in a magnificent performance tonight. The players were fantastic.”

Juventus will take on Barcelona in the Champions League final in Berlin on 6th June.
