NAIROBI, Kenya- Kenyan Premier League (KPL) matches resumes on Saturday at various venues across the country with last week’s losers hoping to make a mark this weekend.

Nakumatt FC, who were thumped 4-0 by defending champions, Gor Mahia FC, will go up against Thika United FC at Ruaraka Stadium in Nairobi.

Visiting Thika United will not be push overs in the match as they are in search for a first victory and a point in the league as it enters  the second round.

Kakamega Homeboyz FC lay in wait for Sofapaka’s scalp at the Mumias Sports Complex and it is coach Mike Muiruri’s prayer that Homeboyz will earn another victory to bring their points tally to six.

Kakamega were lucky to register a 0-1 win against hosts Thika last weekend with the sole goal notched by new signing Allan Wanga.

Bandari and Chemelil Sugar who won their matches against Sofapaka and Tusker FC in the opening round have a date together at the Mombasa Municipal Stadium.

The match could go either way going by the level of preparations the sides had in the course of the week.

Terrible start

Sony Sugar who were stunned 1-0 by newly promoted Wazito FC at Camp Toyoyo Grounds in Nairobi will strive to redeem their image as they host Ulinzi Stars at Awendo Green Stadium on Sunday.

Ulinzi’s coach, Dunston Nyaudo, heads to the tough encounter buoyed with a 4-2 victory against Zoo Kericho.

“Our opening game for the season was terrible. We spent the whole week sharpening our skills ahead of our match with Ulinzi,” Sony Sugar head coach, Salim Babu said.

“Playing Ulinzi needs concentration, we are also under pressure to win since we are the hosts.

“I have motivated the boys. They are inspired. I believe our technique will work out,” Babu underlined.
