NAIROBI, Kenya – SportPesa Premier League (SPL) team Kakamega Homeboyz FC head coach Mike Mururi is content with the point picked against ‘difficult’ Kariobangi Sharks FC on Saturday.
The draw extended Homeboyz’s unbeaten streak to eight straight matches coming after the after two successive victories-against AFC Leopards SC and Sony Sugar FC.
Homeboyz rose to seventh on the SPL log with 23 points from 16 games to remain well on course of accomplishing a top eight finish.
“I think we did well because it was not an easy game. I’m happy with the fight we put in and the point we got is a big plus as it brings us closer to our targets as a team.
“We however still have ground to cover and will be looking to improve on a few areas ahead of our next game,” the former Chemelil Sugar FC boss told.
The team next face basement side Mathare United FC and Mururi will be hoping to get maximum points from Francis Kimanzi’s side.
As Mururi welcomed the stalemate, his opposite number William Muluya lamented their failure to turn their dominance into goals.
“We had several chances that we could have scored from but our final execution was weak. It is great to get a point from the match as we go back to see where we went wrong and make amends,” he added.
