Hazard has got the Blues “out of jail” on a number of occasions this season.
Former Chelsea manager Ruud Gullit believes Eden Hazard has got the Blues “out of jail” on a number of occasions this season, as per beIN SPORTS.
Jose Mourinho’s men are closing in on the Premier League title and following their goalless draw at Arsenal on Sunday, they ensured that two wins in the coming days against Leicester City and Crystal Palace will see them crowned champions.
A draw at the Emirates meant the Blues could secure the title in front of their own fans this coming Sunday, which clearly delighted John Terry and his team-mates as they celebrated like they had won the Premier League after the final whistle.
But despite all of the stars in the Chelsea side – six of whom made the PFA Team of the Season – Gullit believes one man in particular has saved them more often than not this season.
“I think this year, [Eden] Hazard has got them out of jail more than ever,” Gullit told BeIn Sports.
The 24-year-old has been at his sparkling best and was crowned the PFA Player of the Season at the weekend, with Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane winning the Young Player award.
The Belgium international has scored 13 goals in the top flight, just one fewer than he finished last season on, and has assisted a further eight for his team-mates.
Hazard has started every single Premier League game so far this season and completed all but ten of them.
