NAIROBI, Kenya- Local rally legend Ian Duncan, co-driven by Des Page-Morris took the honours at the weekend Fly-SAX/ VCCCK Rally Raid in Naivasha.
Duncan and Morris completed a wire-to-wire victory in their Toyota Prado pick-up, finishing the two-day event ahead of deposed champions Ross Field and Quentin Savage in a Century Racing Buggy.
Century teammate Mike Rose finished third in the second round of the 2018 Fly SAX/ Fly-540 Kenyan National Rally Raid Championship that was hosted by the Ranch House Bistro.
Competitors tackled old and new routes on Saturday on Crater Lake and ARR Wildlife Conservancies with heavy rains battering the country turning part of the course into a river, catching some of the crew out cold.
Using his local knowledge Chui Lodge manager Geoff Mayes, co-driven by Suzanne Zwager, went fastest on the stage, but a missed waypoint that served them a penalty which dropped the pair to second overall, behind Duncan and Morris.
