Liverpool won’t be too happy after news that both Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge have picked up an injury and could both miss England’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland, Mirror reports.
With Sturridge very likely to be ruled out of the match with a thigh problem, Henderson could now join him on the sidelines after injuring his right ankle during training.
It is believed that Manchester City star James Milner will be the candidate to replace the Reds midfielder, leaving England manager Roy Hodgson with a host of selection headaches in the build up to match-day.
Hodgson said: “The injury to Sturridge might make me think a little bit differently in terms of those options.”
Former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck could team up with Three Lions captain Wayne Rooney at the top in place of Sturridge with Raheem Sterling hinted at being given the number 10 role.
A host of different formations have already been tested during their training session with the England boss needing to find the perfect fit or risk another unconvincing display from his players.
