Di Maria ‘very content’ at Manchester United.


Angel Di Maria insists he is “very content” at Manchester United despite suggestions that he is unsettled in England.

The former Real Madrid star, who made the move to Old Trafford in a club-record £59.7 million deal in the summer, hit the headlines last week after his Cheshire home was targeted by burglars following United’s 3-1 win over Leicester City.

Goal understands United are doing everything in their power to allay Di Maria’s fears after the incident and the Argentina international insists he is happy in England, with support from the club’s fans helping him feel settled.

When asked how he’s finding life in England, he told Fifa’s official website: “Very well. The weather is the only thing… it doesn’t help a lot.

“But I’m very content here. The people have a lot of affection for me, which is the most important thing. It’s what I value most, and I have that here.”

Asked how his grasp of the English language was progressing, Di Maria added: “More like regressing! It’s very bad. [I’ve learned] very little and only understand a small bit. That said, I’m trying to learn it bit by bit and I’m taking classes. Hopefully I’ll pick it up quickly.”

Di Maria began his career with Rosario Central before moving to Benfica in 2007 and the 26-year-old insists he would like to return to Argentina when his Manchester United career is over.
