The Kenya Sevens national team Shujaa is back in training as preparations for the third of the World HSBC Rugby Sevens series in Wellington, USA gets closer before the Sydney, Australia series a week later.
The Wellington showpiece will be held on January 28th and 29th and the team, under the guidance of head coach Innocent Simiyu started training on Wednesday 4th January as posted on the offial Kenya Rugby Union site.
The team has so far featured in the Dubai and Cape Town series which were held in December 2016.
In Dubai, the team finished tenth in the Dubai series after exiting at the trophy semis stage having lost to USA but recovered to finish sixth in Cape Town and heading to the Wellington series the coach will be gunning for an improved show.
The team is in Group A of the Wellington Sevens alongside England, who won the Cape Town series, Argentina and a 16th team that will be invited by World Rugby.
The team currently is 10th on the standings after the Dubai and Cape Town series, picking up five points after reaching the challenge trophy semifinal in Dubai before gathering twelve points by way of losing in the fifth place final in Cape Town.
