Western Stima goalkeeper Levis Opiyo may be on his way out of the team, less than six months after joining the Kisumu based side after falling out of favor at Posta Rangers in the first half of the 2016 Sportpesa Premier League (SPL) season.
The goalkeeper joined the team from Posta Rangers, where he left without ever featuring competitively as he was below Ian Otieno in the pecking order and while he started well his stint at Western Stima, he soon fell out with the coach Henry Omino and he dropped to the bench.
In a post on his official Instagram account, he insinuates that he may be headed for the exit door at the club as he wished the team and coaches the best in a picture of himself anf the club’s first choice keeper Gabriel Andika.
He said; “Good or bad, still your name will be praised, as days go by every day, I always see your hand, your support, your cover. You are a truly wonderful God. Bless Western Stima; it was nice working with you guys coach Omino, Nyabinge, Balala and others in the players fraternity.
“You are really amazing guys and very hardworking. I will remember you and I pray for prosperity in each players’ careers.”
With the team headed to its final match of the season on Saturday 19 November, it remains unclear the goalkeeper’s next destination.
