Kenya got a reprieve to reach the Cosafa under 17 football tournament after winning an appeal filed against defending champions Zambia.
Kenya had filed an appeal protesting against the Young Chipolopolo for fielding ineligible players during their preliminary group stage match where they were thumped 4-0 by Zambia at Saint Francois Xavie, Port Louis Mauritius.
The decision by Cosafa now means Kenya are through to the semi-finals of the competition at the expense of Zambia who had topped group B who have now been eliminated from the tournament.
Kenya, who are participating in the youth tournament as a guest team, will now face South Africa as Malawi battle Namibia in the semi finals.
Kenya were already out of the tournament having lost their last Group match 5-0 to Malawi a day after piping Madagascar 2-1.
Kenya, managed only one win against Madagascar (2-1) after losing to Zambia 4-0 and 5-0 to Malawi.
Zambia was the first team from group B to qualify for the semi finals after posting a 100 percent record.
