Everton to hold meeting today to snatch target from Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace started the week impressively agreeing deals to sign two Marseille players.
The French club are once again in a difficult financial situation, and Palace agreed to pay €38m for Michy Batshuayi and €3m for goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.
By the end of the week, Palace may have missed out on deal for both of the players, seeing them join other clubs in the Premier League.
Batshuayi now looks to be going to Chelsea, with France’s RMC saying he’s been given permission to travel for a medical on Wednesday, in a deal worth €40m.
Palace may have agreed to pay a fee and then see Batshuayi come cheaper, which could explain the higher price Chelsea are paying. Regardless, if there’s any way Marseille can get a fee for Mandanda then they will, and Everton are said to have submitted a bid yesterday.
RMC say the player’s agent, the respected Stéphane Courbis, will meet with Everton today, as the two English clubs battle for the goalkeeper.
