Three-time domestic league women handball champions Nairobi Water will take on National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) in the Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) Super Cup tournament set for this Saturday at the Nyayo National Stadium.
This tournament will act as a pre-season for clubs before the league kick off that is expected in two weeks’ time.
Only two matches will be played in the women’s category with the Water girls taking NCPB in the main cup title while Mount Kenya University (MKU) Thika Campus will entertain inform Ulinzi in the shield title.
In the men’s category, there will be three matches with the defending champions Kenya Defense Forces, Ulinzi taking on NCPB in a mouthwatering encounter in the main cup title.
Straight from retaining the Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) games national playoffs last Month, Strathmore will entertain 2009 champions Black Mamba in another exciting shield title encounter while Ulinzi Youth will face off MKU Thika in the plate title encounter.
Strathmore head coach Peter Mwathi said the tournament will act as a build up as they seek to register positive results this season.
“This will be another opportunity for my boys to win another trophy this year. We also want to prepare well for the season as we look to improve on our performance to be at the a better place,” he said.
